What To Do If a Vendor Cancels Last Minute, or Worse...Ghosts You

So, one of your vendors reaches out and tells you there is a family emergency and they can’t provide said service for your wedding...or worse, you’ve been ghosted and don’t think they are coming. It’s safe to say I’ve seen my fair share of last-minute vendor cancellations. While it's certainly not ideal, it's also not the end of the world. Here's what you can do if one of your wedding vendors falls through at the last minute (and you don’t have a wedding planner to save the day).

  • Stay calm: First thing's first, take a deep breath and don't panic.

  • Reach out to your network: Call on your friends, family, and colleagues to see if they know of any reliable vendors who might be able to step in at the last minute.

  • Check with your venue: Your wedding venue might have a list of trusted vendors that they work with regularly. Ask for their recommendations and see if any of them are available on your wedding day.

  • Get creative: If you can't find a replacement vendor for your cancelled one, consider alternative options. For example, if your florist falls through, consider using potted plants or DIY flower arrangements instead.

  • Stay positive: Remember, your wedding day is about celebrating your love and commitment to each other. Don't let a last-minute vendor cancellation ruin your day. Stay positive and focus on the things that matter most.

In the end, a last-minute vendor cancellation might be stressful, but it's not the end of the world. By staying calm, reaching out to your network, and getting creative, you can still have the wedding of your dreams.
